Is there wisdom in turning to the collective experience of the masses when seeking information online?



You probably wouldn’t take advice from a stranger on the street. But is that what you’re doing when you turn to social media? Crowdsourcing has made it possible to tap into the collective knowledge of others, which some say helps fosters diversity of ideas and innovative solutions. Critics warn the information you’re getting isn’t always reliable. So, is this enhancing or hindering our ability to make important personal decisions?
