Inside Sports: Prejudice, prescription drugs, and power

Does the NFL have a homophobia problem? Gay rights advocate and ex-NFL player Chris Kluwe joins The Stream to discuss.

Does the NFL have a homophobia problem?  Former Super Bowl winning coach Tony Dungy recently made headlines when he said he wouldn’t draft Michael Sam, the league’s first openly gay player, because he would be a distraction. Meanwhile, ex-Minnesota Vikings player Chris Kluwe has repeatedly accused his former coach of making anti-gay comments and says he was released by the team for his gay rights activism.  Kluwe will join the Stream to explain why he may sue the Vikings, and whether the NFL is doing enough to be inclusive of all minorities.  Also: Keith Van Horne on prescription pill abuse in the NFL; Stephanie Ready on gender, coaching, and professional basketball.
